Since I can remember, I have loved photography. I love capturing moments from every day life to those big events such as a wedding or a birth. I think I got this from my father who has recorded nearly every moment of my life so that no day goes undocumented.
I believe photography is a great gift. It helps to bring us back to the moments of our lives that we may have otherwise forgotten. It brings back the feelings of that period that may have been buried under the flurry of our day-to-day lives. Moments that may have gone overlooked without the gift of photography.

Ok, if I'm being honest for the first half of my life I never intended on being a photographer. I was going to be a rock star. That's right, a rock star.
To be able to create something that would touch people while providing an outlet for me was very satisfying.
As circumstances changed in my life (relationships, children) it became obvious that this was no way to make a living. Not being one to succumb to the norm I set out to find a new passion/livelihood or as it turns out, re-discover an old one.
The parallels between photography and music were astounding. Both give you the ability to be creative, inventive and produce something that will affect people's lives.
Since that day I re-discovered photography I have never looked back. The feeling I get from giving someone something that will put a smile on their face every time they look at it whether it is in an album or hanging on their wall is so much more poignant than a song that's bound to end up in a bargain bin somewhere.
With photography the subject matters are endless. Emotions. Storytelling. History. It makes you realize how many fascinating things there are around you on a daily basis and makes you appreciate life that much more. As a certified pack rat, pictures really are the ultimate keepsakes.
That's what photography has done for me. You can keep the groupies and tour buses full of sweaty men! Give me a camera and a couple in love, inquisitive little child or a rusted old barn any day.

No matter what the backdrop you are always able to walk away with terrific images because it's about the love between not only two people, but also the love of everyone around them.
